Wednesday: Eve of the Outcasts

One of the tentpole attractions of the inaugural Netflix House, Wednesday: Eve of the Outcasts needed to bring Nevermore Academy's dark, detailed world off the screen and into a physical space, while also being built to travel between venues without losing its structural integrity or scenic fidelity.

Hudson Scenic Studios worked with experience designer Acronym to engineer each environment as a standalone module built to be disassembled, transported, and reinstalled, then fabricated and installed the experience's defining spaces: Wednesday and Enid's dorm, with automated moon doors revealing the spaces beyond; the Academy graveyard, with a cast-iron-finished archway, 3D-printed ravens, and rows of weathered, moss-clad tombstones; the principal's office, beneath a sculpted foam gorgon over faux cast iron doors; and the biology classroom's faux-finished furnishings. Hudson also built original spaces with no source material to draw from, including Enid World, each engineered to hold up to heavy, repeat use, disassembly, and reinstallation.
