The Little Mermaid - A Musical Adventure

A Disney cast member performs as Ariel, surrounded by puppets and projections of sea creatures, framed by a scenic proscenium with features finished in UV-reactive paint, part of the set of Walt Disney World's live show, The Little Mermaid - A Musical Adventure.

When Disney set out to reimagine Walt Disney World's The Little Mermaid for a new generation, the scenic scope was complex enough, and the schedule tight enough, that fabrication needed to start before the rest of the production was fully developed. Hudson Scenic Studios engineered, fabricated, and installed the production's entire scenic environment, including the stage deck and apron, an FRP-clad proscenium, automated puppet hides and deck tracks, and a sculpted foam roll-on boat with performer seating, building in parallel as scope and design details continued to evolve around it.
