Lempicka

For the Broadway production of the new musical Lempicka, scenic designer Riccardo Hernández devised a vast, Art Deco set inspired by the base of the Eiffel Tower, with diagonal steel trusses, platforms, and staircases built to shift continuously through the show.
Hudson Scenic Studios engineered, built, and automated the entire structure, integrating thousands of feet of LED pixel tape directly into the trusses and flooring, and fitting the deck with a custom automated clamshell door that reveals Le Monocle, the show's underground nightclub. The modular steel walls double as a stable canvas for Peter Nigrini's shifting projection designs.
