Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away

For the first regular nighttime parade on Main Street U.S.A. in nearly a decade, Disney designed nine autonomous, self-contained floats that needed to perform twice a night, every night, in any weather. Their Live Entertainment division tapped Hudson Scenic Studios to help solve three of the most complex floats: Blue Fairy, Moana, and the Finale. 

Hudson built the 20-foot Blue Fairy float with illuminated filigree panels and a Smart Glass enclosure that reveals a scene from Pinocchio, engineered over 50,000 programmed pixel lights and an automated stingray for the Moana float, and fabricated the two-float Finale sequence, concealing each float's drive systems and show control equipment inside the spectacle.
