Balloon Rainbow

For the opening of Pier 17 and South Street Seaport's Summer 2018 programming, artist Jihan Zencirli of Geronimo! designed a site-specific installation of her signature inflated balloon sculptures, with less than two weeks to get an overhead support structure built and installed. 

Hudson Scenic Studios engineered, fabricated, and installed a steel tubing support structure with integrated rigging points and cable connections. Since welding was required and no work could happen during business hours, the team installed the structure over two overnight shifts, in time for the Seaport's Color Block Party kickoff celebration.
